            Kinetics and mechanisms of organic reactions. Recent work on inter- and intramolecular proton transfers, nucleophilic addition to electron deficient olefins, nucleophilic vinylic substitution, acid-base catalysis, reactions of transition metal complexes; ab initio calculations; examination of factors that affect intrinsic barriers of reactions.
